Giri/Gemunu Cental College is located in Grama Niladhari domain of Mohoththawa in divisional secretariat of pannala in district of kurunegala.

The school wich was stated on 10thof October 1934 is a great achierement of Mr. J.A.Jamis singno who made a streaneous effort to initiate the school.

We commemorate with heart full of gratitude Mr.J.A. Jamis singno.

 

At the beginning there were 34 students and 3 teachers in the school. For 7 years it flourished as a privebe school.It became a government school on 1stmay in the year of 1941 with the name of Ingaradawula junior school.

After 20 year it was upgraded to Ingaradawula Gemunu Maha vidyalaya on 1stAugust 1761. Then it began to Prosper by attendin to acadumic needs of thousands of children.

All the principals who have pioneered the schools, all the teachers in the staff and the residents of the village contnbnted much for to development of the school.
